Woke up at 7am to go surfing but could barely stand on my ankle.
I took some ibuprofen and continued to elevate it hoping it would get better
soon and pissed that I was missing a surfing session while in the best surfing
spot in Chile.
A few hours later I made breakfast, which was a recreation
of yesterdays oatmeal, but it wasn’t the same making it by myself as it was
yesterday. I hung out for a few more hours giving the hostel a fair shot but I
didn’t connect with anyone as most people just hung out watching tv when they
were in the hostel (first time I haven’t met any really cool people in a hostel
this trip) so I checked out two nights early and surprised the boys back at
Surf Eat Sleep by checking back in for the rest of the week.
I figured my ankle needed an ice bath if I was going to
recuperate and what better way than in the icy Chilean ocean so I grabbed the
board and headed down to the sea.
I had a really hard time getting up as my ankle was super
stiff but got some great conditioning in and my ankle was incredibly better
when I got out a few hours later.
Right before dinner two 27ish Chileans rolled in. These guys are mental and have come down for the rest of the week for holidays and do nothing but party. They had been in the hostel for all of 5 minutes before the pork and steak for everyone was on the grill and a honeydew had been hollowed out and filled with white wine.
