Day 106

The maid came to clean the apartment an hour and a half early. You can imagine how excited I was for that.

Packed up and Erin helped me move all my stuff over to Sam's house. Incase you are just tuning in Sam is an English guy living here teaching English that I befriended a couple months back. He has quite the place. He had been sharing it with an Argentine fellow Fernando but Fernando moved out to the country on holidays for the next couple months so now Sam is watching the house and has an empty room. Well he did at least.

The house is really cool. Its old, like really old but surrounded by all these modern buildings and skyscrapers. Imagine the house in UP if you have seen that. Its really dark and all the walls are concrete but have that old stained look to them like an old outdoor courtyard. There is no hot water or AC and tons of mosquitoes so I have to sleep with a fan next to my bed on high that keeps the mosquitoes from being able to land on me. However all these things just give the place personality and it is a really cool spot. The best part is easily the roof. The entire rooftop of the house is a patio with chairs, speakers, a barbeque and tremendous views of the skyscrapers that surround us. On a nice summer night there is not much nicer than sitting up on that roof surrounded by good friends with Bob Marley or the likes in the background with steaks on the grill as I am soon to find out.

After moving in and doing some last minute shopping for Erin we went to the park and threw the disk for an hour before she had to leave for the airport as well. As soon as she left it finally felt like my family had left and I was homesick for the first time in this country. However there isn't a better cure than good friends and I was invited over to Brendans to hang out with his house mates and play cards till the night was late and Sam and I returned to my new home.
