Day 119

I realized today that I really didn't give Valporaiso the attention it deserves. Sure I walked around it when I had been there with Lucas but we didn't see much and spent most of our days on the beach. I figured I needed to go back and fully experience it and also do a really cool hike I had heard about courtesy of Roz Reynolds. So I packed up, left Santiago and took the hour and a half bus ride back to Valpo. It was great how it worked out, two of my room mates from the hostel in Santiago happened to be going to Valparaiso as well so we all went together and checked into the same hostel I had stayed in last week with Lucas.
Then one of them, a girl from Australia went with me on a three hour walking tour for tips through the city. Saw some amazing street art and views of the city:

On the shot of the entire city you can see the lift or ascencor on the very far right part of the photo. The tour was great and we concluded with the Aussie and a guy we met on the tour from Mexico going to a restaurant about 5 stories up on the roof of a building that overlooks the city, and having a glass of wine.
I had no interest going out with anyone that night, but its hard when you connect with people and you know the next day everyone is going there separate ways so that night I went out with a group that consisted half from the tour and half from my hostel for dinner and then a beer at a club across from the sea. Danced until 3:30 when I called it since I was intending to wake up at 7 to do my hike the next day. Needless to say didn't wake up until 10 and was still exhausted.
