Day Sixty Seven

Another mellow day consisting of not a whole lot in the morning with a long nap in the afternoon. I got myself hooked on a new book on Friday when I bussed back from the airport and spent a lot of today reading it. It's John Grisham's 'The Broker.'

Keeping with the movie Sunday tradition I headed over to Zack's as it approached evening and we went to the local theatre near his house. We ended up seeing Trouble With the Curve, the new Clint Eastwood flick. I love Clint Eastwood's movies. See it if it you get the chance or grab it on netflix or redbox when it comes out, you'll enjoy it. I sure hope they release a bunch of new movies soon. I don't think there are any good to decent movies in theaters that we haven't seen as of now.

Pic of the day is weak but I didn't take any good pictures today so it'll have to do:

This is what a traditional maté looks like. A nice wooden cup in that shape with a metal straw called a bambilla that is specially made to not take up any of the loose leaf sherva (similar to tea leaves) in the cup. The overall drink is called maté and is the national drink of Argentina and probably the most popular. Generally you drink it outside in parks and what not, and maté is more about coming together and sharing with friends than it is actually about drinking the maté. A group of 5 people in the park will have just one tiny cup such as this one. There is the cultural lesson for the day.
